Setting up prayer notifications
Choose a calculation method, pick an adhan sound, and make sure notifications arrive on time.
Prayer notifications are the feature people configure first. It takes about a minute.
1. Set your location
Open Settings → Location. Ad-Deen can use your device location or a city you search for manually. A manual city is useful if you'd rather not grant the location permission.
2. Choose a calculation method
Under Settings → Prayer times → Calculation method, pick the method used by your local mosque or authority. If you're unsure, ask at your masjid — the difference is usually a few minutes on Fajr and Isha.
Changing the calculation method updates every prayer time immediately, so you can compare against your local timetable before settling on one.
3. Pick a notification style per prayer
Each of the five prayers can be set independently:

| Full adhan | Plays the complete adhan |
| Short beep | A brief notification tone |
| Silent | Notification appears, no sound |
| Off | No notification for this prayer |
4. Exempt Ad-Deen from battery optimisation
This is the step most often missed. Android may delay background alarms to save battery, which makes the adhan arrive late.
Go to System Settings → Apps → Ad-Deen → Battery and choose Unrestricted. The exact wording varies by manufacturer.
On Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo and OnePlus devices you may also need to enable Autostart for the app.
